• Giant suspended PVC sails
  • White PVC sails
  • Interior fabric sail office feature

Based in Espoo, close to Helsinki, Finland, the Nokia Headquarters is certainly one of the most interesting places in the world Architen Landrell has worked!

The huge structure, which is made up of three giant sails suspended in the glass atrium of the mobile phone companys headquarters, is an impressive sight to see. The PVC glass cloth sails stretch nearly one hundred feet from the top to bottom of the vast space to accentuate the height of the central atrium.

The mobile phone giants wanted the vertical sails to be the focal point for the atrium and so they were designed to look like yacht sails and create a transient and floating feeling. Their ultimate use is to define the space they live in by providing a sculptural motif and a focus for an otherwise empty area.

The installation of the sails was completed by local labour and supervised by the Architen Landrell site crew, who thoroughly enjoyed their stay in Scandinavia!
