Portfolio > Illuminated Lightframe Entrance Canopy
Once an art deco cinema and now a high end office space, this recently transformed building is now home to a stylish and modern illuminated Lightframe entrance canopy. Juxtaposing modern elements against the 1920s original façade, the canopy’s clean lines and gentle night-time glow offer a contrast to the ornate building.
The Architen Lightframe system used here consisted of 5no tensioned fabric panels forming the soffit cladding of a simple yet modern anodised aluminium canopy. Each of the frames was skinned with a PVDF membrane designed to offer a smooth opaque finish in the daytime and the surface for an evenly distributed glow during the evening.
Architen Lightframe panels are designed to be easily hinged down to allow quick access to the lighting, electrics and any other services concealed above. Functionality is as important as aesthetics so the Architen Lightframe system was an obvious choice.
