  • ETFE cushions supplied without fritting for maximum light transmission
  • Over 1,500sqm of 2-layer ETFE cushions

Architen Landrell were responsible for the design, manufacture, installation, of the ETFE Cushion Roof System with support steel at the new shopping destination Riverside Shopping Centre in Stafford.

A big focus of this project was to achieve the best possible light levels for the shopping public, so ETFE was a perfect material for this.
ETFE is lightweight, more cost effective when compared to glass, with a great light translucency.

In total, the roof comprises 25 horizontal ETFE Cushions, varying in size. The ETFE Foil cushions cover a total of 1500 square metres, and only required one Air Handling unit for the entire system.

The modern open design, is fresh and welcoming to shoppers. Giving excellent weather protection, along with utilising natural light.
